TAX DEDUCTIONS ON CLOTHING
The purchase of clothing that is used strictly in a work environment is deductible as a miscellaneous itemized deduction. Laundry and cleaning expenses for these articles of clothing are also deductible. However if the clothing is suitable for off-the-job use, such as jeans and tennis shoes, you cannot count it as a deduction, even if you only use it for work. Examples of deductible items are business uniforms, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
